Athens Tango Project will play a special set of music featuring tango standards along with tango renditions of Neutral Milk Hotel, Olivia Tremor Control, R.E.M., Pylon, and more. Featuring special guest appearances. This special event is happening at Hendershot's Coffee on August 31st starting at 8pm. Identikit will be the opening band.
A few months ago we recorded a segment to the documentary film, Athens Georgia: 30 Years On in which we performed one of our original songs, an Astor Piazzolla song, and a cover of Athens, GA legends, Neutral Milk Hotel. The film is a sequel to the Athens, Georgia documentary Athens GA: Inside/Out. The original film chronicled the music of Athens, GA and featured the bands, REM, B-52's, Pylon, Kilkenny Cats, Flat Duo Jets, Time Toy, the Bar-B-Que Killers, Dreams So Real, and Love Tractor. We are honored to be part of Bill Cody's film and hope people enjoy the performance.

Very proud to be working with James Preston ( and Taylor Chicoine of Pity Party) to realize his vision for a beautiful documentary on the arts in Athens, GA. Filmed a few songs including a tango by Jay Gonzalez(Drive-By Truckers), and a cover of REM.

We will be performing at the Sigh in July Festival hosted at Live Wire Athens! Our show is on July 22nd at 3pm. Sigh in July is a two day Music and Arts Festival celebrating music in Athens, Ga. The event will feature some of Athens' and the region's best bands and artists. With Food Trucks and Crafts there is plenty to entertain your entire family. Bring your kids, everyone 12 and under has FREE admission. This is an ALL AGES event.
